About Sean Hendrix
The root of my work stems from the influences of the hip hop culture in every way. The use of street art influences my foundation and the complexity of this powerful art inspires me. I see graffiti as a beautiful expression of youth. It is also one of the last forms of public individual creative visual expressions in our daily lives. As I look around at all the store signs and advertisements, a computer makes most all of them. Practically nothing is hand painted or printed anymore. It seems that graffiti, either consciously or not, is holding on to the human touch. This is why I utilize the urban art background in my work. By painting a combination of human figures, conceptual images, and graffiti-derived lettering, I heighten the object’s natural flow, and ultimately enhance its fundamental character.
